MPCA Stream Monitoring - Water Testing
Our students are Hydrologists!
Every week, 4th graders walk down to the Straight River to collect water samples and perform chemical and physical tests to determine the quality of the water. This data is sent to the MPCA annually for analysis.
The following tests are conducted every week:
- Temperature
- Dissolved Oxygen
- Phosphates
- Nitrates
- pH
- Turbidity
