Honey Bees

 

In 1st and 8th grade, CRSS students have the opportunity to put on bee suits and get up close and personal to learn about and help take care of our resident honey bee colony.

 

 

1st grade students have an introduction to the project, observing and learning to become comfortable around the hives. 8th graders take a leadership role in both supervising 1st graders as well as going into and physically manipulating parts of the hive. 8th graders also assist with the honey harvest.
