4/7/2022 Letter from the CRSS Board of Directors

CRSS Families,

Last Friday, the CRSS Board of Directors was saddened to receive the resignation of our Executive Director, Wendy Fisher, effective June 15, 2022. Family considerations have led Wendy to make the decision to move back to the East Coast. Wendy, in her letter to the Board, stated, “I am honored and grateful to have had the opportunity to work with the extremely talented and committed educators and administrators at CRSS this past year. We should all be proud that our school is filled with learning, laughter, and kindness during this time of unprecedented educator and paraprofessional shortages and low morale.

Cannon River STEM School is an amazing community that has faced the challenges of recent years and come through stronger and more dedicated than ever to meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of its students, while delivering its unique E-STEM mission. I am particularly proud of the CRSS educators and their embrace of new curriculum and data-driven instruction this year.”

While the Board is sorrowful to hear the news of Wendy's departure, we all wish her the absolute best in her new phase of life, she has made an unmistakable and tremendous impact on our school, and will be sorely missed!

The Board has already begun the process of finding a new Executive Director, and is confident we will have one in place prior to the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.
